Disposable email addresses
A disposable email address is meant to be thrown away. It receives mail for a short while and is then deleted along with everything it received.
Disposable address vs. email alias
An alias forwards to your real inbox. It hides your address from the sender, but the mail still reaches you and still accumulates. A disposable address forwards nowhere: it has its own inbox, that inbox has a deadline, and received messages are removed after expiry. Use an alias when you want a durable but separable channel; use a disposable address when you want no channel at all after today.
How to use one without losing access to something
- Complete the signup and read the verification mail in the same sitting.
- Copy anything you need — a code, a licence key, a link — before the timer ends.
- Switch to a real address for anything you expect to keep.
